I have been working as a freelancer since 2002, serving advertising agencies as well as long-term business client in organic food, transportation, environmental conservation, IT, therapy, the arts, print and media.

Until 2025, I was responsible for art direction and marketing at one of Germany’s leading brands for organic meat alternatives, Wheaty.

For Cologne’s official city portal, koeln.de, I worked as a web development contractor.

Throughout the 2010s, I was among the top 10 worldwide users
on programming Q&A site, Stack Overflow.

I work from an off-grid finca on Lanzarote, in the Canary Islands, surrounded by an arid, but surprisingly lively landscape with birds, geckoes, lizards, rabbits, partridge, and other wild animals.

I serve clients across Europe and worldwide in various setups: as part of a team, leading a small team, or solo.

My most important tools currently include Adobe Creative Cloud, Cursor, Github, Laravel, Filament, and AI tools Claude Code and Leonardo.

Be it in design or development, my #1 priority is building products that work fast, feel good, and are as easy to grasp as possible.

I invest a lot of energy in avoiding unnecessary technical dependencies and long-term reliability in the things I build.

I grew up in a south German family business where challenges and disruptive changes were always part of life.

This has taught me high conscientiousness, initiative, efficiency, and an instinct for cost-effectiveness.

I love to draw and paint illustrations, paintings, and comics, and write texts and stories.

The relatively large finca requires weekly attention around the house, in the garden, and in construction projects.

After 25 years with a major client, I have left on my own accord and am open for new challenges.

I am open to single projects, and long-term projects and business relationships with a fixed set of hours.
